Tarbert AFC were due to travel to Stepps on Saturday to take on Strathclyde University in a Greater Glasgow AFL Division 3 match - before a late call off.
Very late on Friday evening, Tarbert match Secretary Bill MacFarlane received a text from his opposite number to say that due to four call offs, the university was unable to field a team.
This is the third time this season that Strathclyde, who are two points above Tarbert, have failed to fulfill a fixture against the Mid Argyll side.
With a strong 15 set to travel, this left the boys kicking their heals through no fault of their own.
The previous weekend, Tarbert were beaten 2-1 at home by Bearsden AFC, who sit on the same points on the league table, although Tarbert have played three fewer games and are ahead on goal difference.
This Saturday the boys travel to Bailieston to take on Garrowhill Thistle, who are in the Scottish Cup semi-final the following Monday.
This will be a tough fixture for the Tarbert youngsters against a side that are second in the division, but one they are looking forward to.
