Kyleakin AFC 3
Fort William FC Reserves 1

Fort William Reserves began their West Highland Amateur Football League season with a defeat to Kyleakin FC, writes Peter Newman.
The second string side made their way to Skye to take on the team who beat them to fifth spot in last year’s table by one point.
Here, the Lochaber lads opened strongest. However, a long ball was halted in the air and this allowed home side striker Corey MacLennan to beat Bradley Cameron in the Fort goal from a tight angle to open the scoring.
It remained 1-0 at the break.
Sadly for the visitors, the pattern of the first half was to repeat itself in the second.
Coming racing out of the gates, Fort winger Innes Orr was able to finish and slot home to square the scores after a period of sustained pressure.
It did not stay that way for long. Substitute Keith Mackenzie was able to move the hosts ahead once again with his first touch of the game after an excellent save by Cameron fell to his feet.
Then, as the Fort team tired, Kyleakin’s Joel Goldby was hauled to the ground and a penalty awarded. Gordon Mccarroll made no mistake from the spot and all three points were destined to stay on the island.
The result sees Fort in fifth place the table, directly behind Kyleakin again, and looking for their first win of the season.
The Reserves will be in action this week, hosting North West Skye at Claggan Park with 15:00 kick off.
