BIRD – Peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow, on July 26, 2022, Winifred Anne Reid (Winnie) in her 95th year, 8 Park Terrace, Campbeltown and formerly of Tayinloan, dearly beloved wife of the late Jackie Bird, much loved mum of Ronald and Ali, mother-in-law of Elinor and Kevin and a loving granny of John, Hannah, Gordon and Hannah.
DONALDSON – Peacefully at the Mid-Argyll Hospital on July 29, 2022, Peter Donaldson, aged 82 years of Duncrinan, Bellanoch by Lochgilphead. Previously Deacon of the Bonnetmakers & Dyers of – The Trades House of Glasgow. Former husband of Margaret and loving father of Neil and Lynn. Cherished grandpa of Millie. Dear brother of Charlotte. A good neighbour, friend and former work colleague to many. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Cardross Crematorium at 11.15am. Family flowers only please. MCCULLOCH – On July 27, 2022, peacefully at Mid Argyll Hospital, Lochgilphead, Lynda Martin McCulloch, née Fisher in her 74th year, beloved wife of the late Jim McCulloch and much loved mother of Tracy, John, Robert and Laura, dearly loved Nanny of Cara, Molly, Lewis, Rosie, Ryan and George and a dearly loved sister, aunt and dear friend of many, sorely missed by all. Funeral service at Inveraray Parish Church, on Friday, August 5, at 12noon, interment thereafter at Glen Shira Cemetery, to which all friends are respectfully invited. Flowers welcome.
Suddenly at home, 6 Lorne Campbell Court, Campbeltown, on July 18, 2022, Margaret McKinven McMurchy, in her 87th year, formerly of Langbank, dearly beloved wife of the late Bruce McKinven and a loving sister and aunt. Margaret’s funeral will take place on Monday, August 8, 2022 at 12.00 noon in the Lorne and Lowland Parish Church. Thereafter to Kilkerran Cemetery. The cortège will leave the Church at 12.30 p.m. travelling up Longrow, Aqualibrium Avenue, and round the Cross on the way to Kilkerran Cemetery. You may attend the service in the church and cemetery, alternatively you may pay your last respects to Margaret along our route.
MACCALLUM – Christine and family express heartfelt thanks to family, friends and ex-colleagues of Eddie for their huge support and kindness since his passing. Special thanks to Rev Dorothy Wallace for her beautiful service; the organist; Vi and Frances for floral arrangements. Grateful thanks to all staff at cardiac and renal units at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, the local hospital, the paramedics, and the local GP practice for their excellent care of Eddie. Thanks to David and Cindy and volunteer helpers for the lovely catering in Furnace Hall. A big thank you to Donald MacDonald, Funeral Directors, for their very professional and efficient arrangements throughout and to all those who attended at the crematorium and church. Your presence was very comforting at such a sad time. Donations for Kidney Research amounted to £1100 on the day. Thank you.
MCALPINE – Karen and Sam would like to thank all family and friends far and wide for their love and support recently following the very sudden passing of their ‘Main Man’. Tarbert village has held us in their hearts. Thanks to Stan Lupton and John Hunt for piping John through the village and a very special thank you to Reverend John McGregor for a very personal fitting service for someone that touched so many lives.
ROBERTSON – Sheena and family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to everyone for their support, cards, and flowers following the sad loss of their mother Margaret Robertson. Special thanks to the dedicated team of carers who not only looked after mum’s physical needs but kept her spirits up over the last few difficult years and to Elizabeth for her daily calls and friendship. Thanks also to the doctors and nurses at Campbeltown Hospital, to Father Tony for a fitting service and support, to Kenneth and Rhys Blair for their professional service, Southend Hall committee and Argyll Bakery. Thanks to everyone who attended the church and graveside and for contributing to the retiral collection for M.S Campbeltown branch which raised £160. Our mum, greatly missed and always in our hearts.
