An Oban photographer with Tarbert and Mid Argyll connections was celebrating this week after winning a photography competition.

Kevin McGlynn topped the adult professional category in the UK Wild Otter Trust’s 2021 photography competition.

Announcing the winners on its Facebook page, the trust said: ‘The standard of entries was so high and the judges so busy… that it took us a little longer than we expected to whittle the hundreds of entries down to just a handful of winners.

‘Thank you again to everyone who entered and congratulations to the winners. The standard of entries was incredible and truly impressed the judging panel. Looking through the winning photos truly shows the beauty of this species and its environment. We hope you enjoy them as much as we did.’

Kevin’s winning photograph featured Ollie the otter, who has become something of a social media sensation, with Kevin’s photographic help, over recent months.
