Members had a great time on an almost midge-free evening at Lochgilphead Golf Club’s Fun Texas Scramble.

The event and teams on Thursday May 27 were organised by club captain James Scott and there were a few smiles when, lo and behold, the winning team with a fantastic nett score of 25 was James Scott, Ruan McKellar and Chris McIntyre.

There are another two such evenings planned for later in the year, so get them in your diary.

A good turnout of gents took to the course in lovely weather on Saturday May 29 to compete for the Ann Williams Trophy.

The winner, with a fantastic score of a nett 61, was Drew Swan, closely followed by Alex MacAulay with a nett 65.

The ladies played for the Rosalind Flanagan Memorial Trophy.

This was won by Kathleen Young with a tremendous eight-under-par score of 44 points; in second place with 29 points was Ele Hunter.

Kathleen’s golf is on fire and her name can be expected on the winners list many more times this year.
