CORSON – Peacefully, at the Sheldon Unit, West Heath Hospital, Birmingham, on February 11, 2019, Elizabeth, in her 95th year, dear sister of the late Sarah Ferguson and much loved aunt to Heather Smithson. Born in Campbeltown, travelled widely, always loved Kintyre.
ELKIN – Colum Ross Elkin. On February 8, 2019, at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow, Colum, deeply loved and loving husband of Karen and the late Jean, dear father to Heather, Fiona, Barbara, Colum, Erin and Eilidh, proud grandfather to Scott, Duncan, Robert, Jean and Edith, and a respected brother, son-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law and uncle. Funeral service will take place at Cumlodden Parish Church, Furnace, on Tuesday, February 19 at 12.30pm, and thereafter to Kilevin Cemetery, Crarae. All friends respectfully invited. Family flowers only, but donations if desired, at church door, for the British Heart Foundation and the Red Cross.
MACAULAY – At his home, 7 Wallace Way, Lochgilphead, Alexander (Alec) Macaulay, in his 55th year, formerly of 16 Glenfyne Park, Ardrishaig, younger son of the late Thomas Macaulay and Marie Corbett, brother of Thomas, Julie and the late Diane, uncle of Donna-Marie and Chloe. Funeral service will be held in Lochgilphead Parish Church, today Friday, February 15, 2019, at 12.00 noon, thereafter to Achnabreac Cemetery.
MACKENZIE – Peacefully, at Mid Argyll Community Hospital, Lochgilphead, on February 3, 2019, in her 90th year, Eva, beloved wife of the late Ian, mum of Ian and Brian, and a much loved gran and great-gran. Funeral will take place at Glassary, Kilmartin and Ford Parish Church, Kilmartin (former Living Stones Christian Centre), on Tuesday, February 19 at 12.00 noon. Interment will take place at Pennyfuir Cemetery, Oban, on Wednesday, February 20 at 11.00am.
MCGIMPSEY – On February 9, 2019, peacefully at home, James (Jimmy) McGimpsey, in his 80th year, beloved husband of Janet, much loved father of Karen, Angie and Jimmy, a dearly loved brother and uncle, father-in-law of William and Stewart, and dear Grumps of Kaitlin, Erin and Ryan. Funeral service at Cardross Crematorium, (today) Friday, February 15 at 10.15am, followed by a memorial service at Tarbert Parish Church, at 2.00pm, to which all friends are respectfully invited. Family flowers only please, donations if desired, to Cancer Research UK and Alzheimer’s Society.
WAGGETT – Suddenly at home, 11 Lochend Street, Campbeltown, on January 24, 2019, Michael John Waggett (Mike), in his 75th year, eldest son of the late Fred and Nanny Waggett, much loved brother of Dot and the late Raymond, brother-in-law of Teddy and Jenny, loving uncle of Brian and Amanda and great uncle of Yasmine, Claire, Gemma and Darren. Funeral service in the Salvation Army Citadel, Campbeltown, today Friday, February 15, 2019 at 1.00pm, thereafter to Kilkerran Cemetery. Friends please accept this intimation and invitation. Family flowers only please. A retiral collection will be held in aid of the Salvation Army Campbeltown.
FLETCHER – The family of the late Mary Margaret Fletcher would like to thank all relatives, friends and neighbours for their many kind expressions of sympathy and support following their recent sad loss. Special thanks to all home carers, district nursing and medical staff, Rev Hilda Smith for a personal and uplifting service, and to organist Catherine Paterson; to Donald MacDonald Funeral Directors for their guidance and very caring service, to Morna for the beautiful flowers and the Stag Hotel for excellent catering.
