Dog attacks

It does not matter how lovely, docile and well mannered your dog is. Given the right circumstances they can chase and attack other animals.

Continuing attacks on sheep suggest that the message is failing to get through to  a minority of people with dogs.

And let’s forget the term ‘livestock worrying’. These are livestock attacks, plain and simple, and the results can be truly horrific.

Dog owners and farmers alike – let’s support the efforts of police officers in Argyll who are taking the issue seriously and taking steps to improve matters.

Happy Burns day and night to our readers.

Some of the Bard’s attitudes to the fairer sex may be mildly misogynistic to our eyes, but his views on equality, freedom and egalitarianism are timeless and worth celebrating. As is his wit and lyrical power. So enjoy your haggis, neeps and tatties (vegan or not – see page XX) and maybe a wee dram – and recite a poem or two in his immortal memory.
