The Lochgilphead Beach Clean took place on Sunday May 20 as part of the Lochgilphead Phoenix Project.

Despite the murky weather, volunteers collected discarded plastic and waste. Armed with wellies and litter pickers, the 10 volunteers filled 14 bin bags of rubbish including a fully functioning bike and walking cane.

Malcolm Sinclair of the Lochgilphead Phoenix Project said: ‘Thanks go to the GRAB Trust which provided litter pickers, gloves and rubbish bags.’

The group will be back this time next year for another round and is also looking into starting an autumn beach clean.
