Go Betty

We heartily agree with the decision of the Lord Lieutenant to nominate Betty Rhodick to attend the royal wedding.

As far as we are aware, no one works harder for Lochgilphead  – and once Betty puts her mind to something…

Betty and Geordie have been the figureheads for the Lochgilphead Armed Forces Day commemorations since they started, but she deserves this recognition not just for this one annual event, but for all she does on our behalf.

Enjoy yourself, Betty and Kelly.

Museum excitement

The renovated Kilmartin Museum is now almost within reach.

This is sure to be of great economic benefit to the region when it opens in two years and it is an exciting prospect that will enable the unique heritage of Mid Argyll to be properly showcased.

Scapa life

Just what was last weekend’s Scapa festival at Ardkinglas?

The answer is probably unique to every individual who attended. It was what people wanted to make of it.

One thing is certain – T in the Park it was not.

It was something new for Argyll and the organisers deserve credit and encouragement.
