Who would have thought that a collection of postcards and photos could give such a clear historical tour depicting ‘The Changing Face of Inveraray’?

Thanks to November’s guest speaker Ken McTaggart, Inveraray and District History Society members were intrigued by all the changes that had taken place over the centuries. Ken’s patient research and keen eye for detail revealed even the smallest changes in buildings, trees, vehicles and land development which gave him enough information to be able to date the variety of postcards collected over the years.

Activity during the War was clearly depicted with the aid of aerial photographs, some of which were taken by the Luftwaffe.

Society members were delighted to be joined by a number of guests and new members and would like to extend a warm welcome to anyone wishing to join the December meeting as well.

Well known local singer, musician and Gaelic speaker, Ethel MacCallum, will be entertaining everyone with ‘Songs of Inveraray – Old and New’ on the evening of Tuesday December 5 in the Nicoll Hall.
