Tarbert Village Hall was transformed into a wrestling arena on Saturday October 7 as a capacity crowd watched Glasgow Pro Wrestling Asylum (GPWA) stars battle it out.
Raising money for the Clachan Village Fund, the wrestling performances saw teams headed by WWE superstar Wolfgang and Scottish pro wrestler Jack Jester.
The crowd were delighted to witness wrestling moves that are usually seen only on television.
As the final match approached with both teams drawn on points, Jack Jester and Wolfgang went head to head.
With the crowd siding with Wolfgang, also known as the Big Bad Wolf, the match eventually sprawled outside the ring and among the crowd. The game went back and forth with no hint of a winner.
As the match drew to and end, all 16 wrestlers approached the ring to help win the fight for their captain. With the crowd running to follow the action around the ring, the referee soon stopped the brawl, ensuring it was back to Wolfgang and Jester to battle to the very end.
Following the mad brawl, Jester decided to grab a spare chair to put a stop to his match with Wolfgang. He was abruptly stopped by the referee, much to the disappointment of the crowd.
Despite Jack Jester getting some help from his team mates and putting up a lengthy fight, the Wolfgang was crowned winner following a final power lift which saw the end of the match.
A crowd favourite, there were chants across the hall as Wolfgang’s team took the honours. Following the match, the Big Bad Wolf was enthusiastic about the event.
He said: ‘It was a great event, we’d love to come back. It’s a great venue and a terrific crowd.’
