Last weekend saw the ladies and gents playing their final competitions for the season in somewhat inclement weather at Lochgilphead Golf Club.
The gents played their second round of the Final Fling on Sunday and jubilant winner, with a great score of 115 strokes for the two rounds, was Jim Hunter who beat Alex MacAulay by 12 strokes.
The ladies also played their Final Fling, and the winner was Jane Hepburn who won with 32 points to beat Fiona McLeod by a single point.
The trophies for these competitions, and silverware for all of the other competitions, will be presented at the prizegiving dance on November 3. There will be a buffet and dancing to Ceilidh’s Homet as well as the trophy presentations. Tickets, priced £15, are available from committee members.
The winter leagues now take over, with the gents commencing at 9am on Sunday October 8 and the ladies at 12.30pm on Sunday October 15.
The club is looking forward to welcoming all the hardy west coast winter golfers at these leagues and reports will follow.
