An Argyll group of former Girl Guides has handed over a cheque in support of Dalmally-based charity Mary’s Meals.

The Argyll Trefoil Guild made the £100 donation as part of its ongoing charity work.

The group meets at least three times per year for an outing, group lunch and its annual general meeting.

Other activities include the annual Quaich Challenge competed for, in turn, by Rainbows, Brownies and Guides. Last year First Oban Brownies won the quaich for a collage using recycled materials to celebrate HM Queen’s 90th birthday. This year it will be the turn of the Guides, who will be baking cakes with the theme of the 75th anniversary of Trefoil Guild UK.

Argyll Trefoil Guild currently has 29 members, with the ladies coming from Campbeltown, Cowal, Lorn, Mid Argyll and Islay.
