Theft of heating oil

Between Friday July 21 and Saturday July 29, a quantity of heating oil was stolen from a tank in the garden of a house in Ardfern. Police are investigating the incident and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information.

Dangerous driving

At around 11.30am on Thursday August 3, a car was reportedly driven in a dangerous manner while overtaking a lorry on the A816 between Kilmichael and Kilmartin. The lorry ended up in the ditch and had to be recovered. Police are investigating the incident and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information.

No MOT

A driver was stopped by police at 2pm on Thursday August 3 on the A83 at Lochgilphead. Checks revealed the vehicle had no MOT and the 33-year-old male driver was charged and issued with a £100 fixed penalty.

Vandalism to show sign

A Mid Argyll Show advertisement sign, hung on the railings at the public toilets on Lochnell Street, Lochgilphead was damaged on Thursday August 3 at around 8pm. A 16-year-old boy was later traced and issued with a fixed penalty notice fine of £40. He is also arranging to pay for a new sign.
