Lochgilphead Red Star 1-3 Gartcosh United
Red Star started their pre-season preparations on Saturday against Gartcosh, a strong side that will be playing in the Central Scottish league this season.

Despite having several players unavailable, the Lochgilphead outfit managed to give a good run out to a squad of fifteen on the day.

Gartcosh took the lead after twenty five minutes before Ciaran McPhie equalised for Star after converting an Andy Weir cross. The visitors edged ahead again as Star fell asleep at the back just before half time.

Both sides continued to try and play in the second half but it was the more experienced Gartcosh side who added to their tally with a third goal late on.

Unfortunately for Red Star, Aaron Moore picked up an ankle injury which may see him miss the start of the season.

Tomorrow (Saturday) Red Star take on Firhill United at the Joint Campus 3G in another pre-season friendly.
