NOMINATIONS are open for the coveted title of Tarbert Seafood Festival Queen.

The festival is a fantastic weekend of seafood, parades, music and fun situated around Tarbert harbour.

The street will be lined with a variety of stalls from local businesses, with cookery demonstrations using the local seafood.

One of the highlights of the event, on July 1 and 2 this year, is the crowning of the festival queen and her princesses – after she has arrived in Tarbert by sea. A colourful procession of floats follows, led by the queen and serenaded by Mid Argyll Pipe Band.

Sunday is a great family day out, with live music and plenty to entertain children and adults.

To enter the festival queen contest, pick up your form from Margaret MacNeill by April 30. Girls must be over 18 by the end of 2017 and live in the Tarbert Academy catchment area.
