THERE is nothing more satisfying than growing your own fruit and vegetables, and now that opportunity is open to everyone.
Raised beds are available for hire at Blarbuie community garden in Lochgilphead, with an option of beds both outside and inside the polytunnel.
The Blarbuie Woodland Enterprise is holding a May day event at the community garden on Monday May 1 to mark the change of seasons. It is an opportunity for the more green-fingered members of the community to find out what services are on offer at the gardens and to see the full work of the Woodland Enterprise at Blarbuie.
There will be horticultural demonstrations and advice available to visitors at the May day event, as well as plants for sale. Visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic and enjoy a chat with the volunteers at the Blarbuie gardens.
If anyone is interested in attending, follow the signs through the wooden arch at the top left hand corner of the hospital car park. For information on the Blarbuie Woodland Enterprise, visit www.blarbuiewoodland.org.
