It is good to see that Argyll and Bute Council is to hold a special meeting of the full council today to debate the recent report on the authority’s education service.

By all accounts, it took a little persuasion – otherwise it was to be discussed only at a council committee – but eventually sufficient councillors demanded a special meeting for it to happen.

This is open to the public, as are the majority
of council meetings. If you have never experienced these gatherings of councillors before, it might be an education to go along to Kilmory at 10.30am today, Friday. Best behaviour, though.
