SNP sweeps to victory in Argyll and Bute

The Scottish National Party’s Brendan O’Hara has ousted Liberal Democrat Alan Reid from theĀ  Argyll and Bute seat in Westminster, which has beenĀ  Liberal Democrat since 1987.

The result was declared at 5.40am on Friday May 8, with the SNP seeing a victory with a majority of 8,473 over the Liberal Democrats.

Mr O’Hara polled 22,959 votes, while Mr Reid had 14,486 votes.
