Vandals deface Lochgilphead pavilion three days after re-opening

Vandals have splattered graffiti over the outside walls of the changing rooms at Ropework Park, 72 hours after the building was re-opened following an extensive six-week renovation.

Lochgilphead residents were appalled to find the front of the pavilion daubed with spray paint.

Missed chances prove costly to Red Star

Red Star travelled to Paisley for their Premier Two encounter on Saturday, February 14 2015, and despite creating plenty of chances could only take home a share of the points.

The game did not start well for Star as the team found themselves a goal down after 10 minutes, when a neat through ball was met by the Paisley forward who scored past the  advancing Kalache to make it 1-0.

Red Star Over 30s win for second year

Saturday December 27 2014 saw the return of the annual charity match between Lochgilphead Red Star’s Over 30s and Under 30s.

In an evenly contested game it was the overs that won the honours with a 2-0 victory at Ropework Park, courtesy of a goal in each half.

However on this occasion it was the Lochgilphead side which ran out winners with Docherty helping himself to five goals.

Red Star welcomed league runners up Goldenhill to Ropework Park for the final match of the season and despite getting off to a shocking start it was the Lochgilphead side that ran out 4-3 winners.

The Lochgilphead men are delighted with their position in their first season in Premier Division 2.

Red Star fire eight past Port Glasgow

Red Star welcomed Port Glasgow United to Ropework Football pitch  and gave their promotion hopes a boost as they got the better of an 11-goal thriller.

The game did not start well for the local side however as they found themselves a goal down in the opening minutes when the United forward got the run on the Star defence before showing good composure to score past Kalache.
