Inveraray jail break

Despite freezing conditions, competitors and marshals turned out on Sunday for the sixth annual Inveraray Jail Break run.

Overcoming the wet and windy conditions, children and adults stiffened their sinews and did what  runners do best – went for it in fine style, with several race records broken on the day.

Jail breaking record at Inveraray

The Inveraray Jail Break race record was smashed at the weekend as Michael Deason finished the 7.3km, 236m climb and descent in just 26 minutes 23 seconds.

A Shettleston Harriers runner, he finished almost three full minutes ahead of the next competitor.

The annual event on Sunday saw runners of all ages taking part in the three simultaneous races – The Inveraray Jail Break, Inveraray Junior Jail Break and Kids in the Run.
