A record number of entries has been received for Mod Dalriada,the provincial mod for Mid Argyll. Already 150 entries have been received for the one-day event on Saturday September 17,including a record eight adult choirs,including entries from Islay. For more see this week’s Argyllshire Advertiser,September 9 or on line at www.argyllshireadvertiser.co.uk/digital This year’s Mid Argyll Music Festival has been hailed a success by organisers. Held over seven days,the festival saw adults and youngsters take part in a range of classes from piping,to Scots Verse,and instrumental classes. Although this year’s event saw a drop in numbers,organiser Sheila McCallum said it was ‘without a doubt a success’with preparations now commencing for next year’s event.
