Inveraray and District Pipe Band completed a remarkable rise through the competition ranks within a decade by winning the title of European champions at the end of June.
The band,which entered its first competition in 2005,quickly rose through the grades to enter the premier grade one in 2010.

The 2014 Mid Argyll Music Festival was a bumper year for locals as two of the area’s biggest musical acts received the two biggest awards.
The Gifford Bowl,awarded to the act that achieves the highest mark throughout the week-long festival,was presented to Mid Argyll Youth Chorus (MAYC).
Argyll Brass was credited with the biggest surprise of the festival as the band overcame the renowned Campbeltown Brass in the big bands competition.
