Mid Argyll athlete a winner at Loch Lomond games

MID Argyll’s Kirsty Young put in a superb performance to be crowned ladies triathlon champion at the Loch Lomond Highland Games.
600 metre open swim in Loch Lomond followed by a hilly 7.2 mile mountian bike cycle and a three kilometre run around Balloch Castle completed by a 400 metre run around the games arena track.
Kirsty, who represented Mid Argyll Triathlon and Cycle Club, said: ‘This is my first win in triathlon and I am delighted.
‘It was a tough race but a great experience to finish in the main arena.’ Also competing for the club were Stephen Whiston who finished seventh in the mens race, Matt Donald, who finished twelfth and Garret Corner who finished seventeenth.
