A FORMER Lochgilphead High School pupil has returned to save the fate of the town’s putting green this summer.
Graham Clark, originally from Kilmichael, stepped in at the final hour to take over the summer putting service, after the Advertiser revealed no one had bid for Argyll and Bute Council’s contract. The 30-year-old, who is qualified in sports coaching, has been finding the weather a bit of a hindrance to trade.
He said: ‘Before I took it over there was weeks of sunshine – I thought I could be a millionaire by now but since I started all it’s done is rain.’
‘Hopefully the weather will pick up and I’m looking to host some family putting competitions which should be good.’
The putting green is owned by the council, with the local authority supplying the equipment and maintaining the grass area.
