AFTER 30 years at the helm of one of Lochgilphead’s most established businesses, Eli Pickering has passed the reins onto a new owner.

For Ardrishaig woman Hilda McGonagall, her perfect chance for a new start in life reared its head when Dalriada Home Hardware came up for sale.

Grandmother Hilda said this week: ‘I worked in an office for Argyll and Islands Enterprise and I knew I had to do something different with my life.

‘I’m really enjoying my new business.’
