BLARBUIE Woodland Project and the Dalriada Project collaborated for two days of woodland activity in the woods by Argyll and Bute Hospital and the Mid Argyll Community Hospital.
le followed the woodland trails, enjoying the viewing platforms, sculptures and trees and spring flowers, along the way watching and taking part in a variety of woodland arts and crafts – painting, picture-framing, carving and weaving and learning about uses of plants and trees.
Members of the public took part on the Sunday along with patients of Argyll and Bute Hospital. Pupils of Lochgilphead Resource Centre, Elfs Nursery, Whitegates Learning Centre and Ardrishaig, Tayvallich and Ashfield primary schools attended on Monday.
The organisers would like to thank hospital staff, Forestry Commission Scotland, Scottish Natural Heritage and the Big Lottery Breathing Places Campaign.
Hugh Fife, project coordinator told The Advertiser: ‘Blarbuie Woodland goes from strength to strength and the partners – Reforesting Scotland, Argyll Green Woodworkers Association, Lochgilphead Community Council, the Scottish Association for Mental Health and NHS Highland – are delighted to see so many people using the woods on a day-to-day basis, and are very pleased to be associated with the Dalriada Project.’
