FOR MANY years, Strachur and District Piping Association have nurtured the musical talents of local youngsters.
With the invaluable help and assistance of many experienced pipers from Argyll and beyond, the association has been instrumental in encouraging local youngsters to expand their piping knowledge and abilities.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the association, and a number of events have been planned to mark the occasion, the first of which will be the annual piping competition open to young people from primary school age up to 17 years old.
The event will take place on June 21, with all entries to be received by May 31. A copy of the entry form can be found at www.strachur.org.uk, or phoning secretary Jean Gibson on 01369 860744. Information on other events are also on the website.
