LOCHGILPHEAD Bowling Club got its season underway last Saturday when founding member and honorary club president Maimie Catto threw the first jack of the year.
This was followed by the traditional Presidents v Vice Presidents match which finished 40 shots to 27 in favor of the vice president’s team.
The top pair for each team received prizes from both captains with Joan Robertson and Donald Maclachlan for the vice team and Arthur Morris and Sandy Boyd for the president’s team being presented with their prizes.
Lochgilphead’s season opens in earnest with the first league game on the April 30 away to Tarbert, all members wishing to play should put their names up on sheet in the club.
Anyone wishing to join or indeed try the game of bowls can come to the club on Tuesday or Thursday evenings at 6.30pm, bowls can be provided.
