ARDFERN residents travelled to Poland last month to watch local couple Bea and William Goudy tie the knot.
More than 60 villagers made the trip to Karpacz to show their support for the popular couple.
Bea came to Scotland two years ago from Poland and currently works for Ardfern Yacht Centre.
The 25-year-old met local lad William, 27, in the Galley of Lorne and within a year they were engaged to be married.
Bea explained: ‘I met William when I was working in the Galley of Lorne pub.
‘He proposed to me at Christmas 2006 in the Tayvallich Inn.’
The couple were overwhelmed by the support and generosity of everyone who travelled to Poland.
Bea said: ‘It was really great that everyone from Ardfern travelled to Poland and I was so pleased because it meant that my friends in Poland could meet my Scottish friends.’
William added: ‘I think it was also really good because there is so many Polish people living here so it was nice for the Scots to see their culture and way of life.’
Bea is the eldest daughter of Krystyna and Tadeusz Dachnowska and William is the youngest son of Bob and Jane Goudy of Ardfern.
