THE LOCHGAIR Association held its annual beach clean last Saturday.
This popular event was attended by 36 adults and 12 children in glorious weather.
They succeeded in cleaning from the Hazel Burn in Ardcastle to Port Ann, including both shores of Loch Gair – more than eight miles
In the afternoon the cleaners joined company with the rest of the village and their friends, around 60 in total, for a barbecue and Easter egg treasure hunt for the children.
Ian Smith, Chairman of the Association said: ‘This was another great success due to the enthusiasm of the volunteers and the generous help from our sponsors.
‘It is a little ironic that the only concession we get from the two government agencies whose land we clean, is permission to take our vehicles along the forest tracks for access.’
The beach clean was sponsored by the Grab Trust, Campbell Cleaning Services, Argyll and Bute Council and Keep Scotland Beautiful.
