THE OBAN Times welcomed a new addition to the team earlier this year with the appointment of Argyllshire Advertiser reporter Jennifer Sutherland.
Based in Lochgilphead, Jennifer is no stranger to the company, having worked with them in early 2000 as a trainee reporter.
The 23-year-old graduated last year with a BA in Journalism before working for the Press and Journal newspaper based in Forfar, Angus.
She has also worked on a freelance basis for the Sunday Post, Evening Times in Glasgow and the Scottish and Northern Equestrian magazine.
Speaking of her move back to Argyll, Jennifer said: ‘I’ve never really left the place because I was always back and forward to see my family and horses.
‘Argyll is a beautiful place and can’t really compete with other area’s.
‘Lochgilphead is expanding and growing so it’s an exciting time to be reporting on local issues.’
Jennifer is looking forward to establishing contacts within the Mid Argyll community as well as ensuring important local news is brought to the forefront. In her spare time she enjoys horse-riding, motorcycling and spending time with her family and friends.
