POPULAR traditional band Skerryvore got the crowds moving on Saturday night as old and young mixed for a fundraising ceilidh in Lochgilphead’s Argyll Hotel.
The event was held to raise money for local choir Coisir Og Dhail Riata’s trip to the National Mod this year, with about £1000 going into the coffers from the gig.
The choir performed two songs before the ceilidh got under way, including one which they intend to perform at the Mod this year.
Organiser Lena Ferguson said: ‘We are pleased with the local support we got. We made about £1000 which is a great boost for getting the choir to the Mod. Everyone had a great time and Skerryvore said they thoroughly enjoyed being here and can’t wait to get back.’
