TOMORROW night (Feb.16), Ardrishaig Hall sees the return to the Mid Argyll stage of the outstanding and highly successful soprano from Tarbert, Wilma MacDougall. Together with Colette Ruddy (mezzo-soprano) and Robert Melling (piano), this distinguished trio known as ‘Alma’ have delighted audiences the length and breadth of the country since their formation in 1997.
Both singers enjoy busy solo careers on the concert platform with leading choirs and orchestras, and for their two Argyll recitals - Ardrishaig and Oban (Sunday), they have designed an attractive and generous programme of classic duets, Lieder, light music and Scottish songs guaranteed to please all tastes.
Robert Melling has always accompanied Wilma and Colette and he will perform Peter Maxwell Davies’ ‘Farewell to Stromness’ and Debussy's ‘Clair de Lune’ between song sets.
Full details of the evening's programme can be seen on the Mid Argyll Arts Asociation website via www.argyllcommunities.org.
Starting at 8pm, this should be a ravishing evening of songs and piano music and tickets are available at the door from 7.15 onwards.
