After 18 months of closure, ACHA have re-opened the Kingsway Play Area in Tarbert after a major refurbishment of the equipment and grounds.
ACHA, represented by Jane Hepburn and Iain McLeod, met with local mums and kids to formally re-open the play park on Friday, February 8.
The Housing Association took ownership of this play area as part of the Housing Stock Transfer process in November 2006. At that time the play area had already been closed due to concerns about the condition of the equipment.
The issue of this play area and other play areas in ACHA ownership was to be addressed as part of ACHA’s Play Area Review. However, after local representation and in order to meet the needs of the local community, funds were committed to allow the project to be completed early.
