This week the D Macdonald Builders and Hire a Joiner-sponsored Red Star are again at home in a tough match with Rosehill Star. Rosehill have also started the season well, enjoying good runs in the West and Scottish Cups.
Referee for this match will be David Mitchell from Oban. The match kicks off at 2pm, weather permitting.
Red Star are eager to get back into action after the Christmas break and Manager Moore should hopefully have a full squad to choose from.
Training will continue at the Astro turf on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 6.30pm. Anyone interested in coming along will be made very welcome.
The annual over-30s versus Under-30s challenge match took place on December 27 but unfortunately for the old boys they were to lose the game by four goals to two. Young Robert Docherty stole the limelight for the youngsters with the Red Star new boy bagging a hat-trick and Naisby grabbing the other. A very enthusiastic Duncan Sinclair showed he hasn’t lost any off his flair bagging a double - one in each half.
Man of the Match was Donnie Johnson. It was decided the money made from this match would go towards Kenny & Catriona Crawford with our best wishes.
Both sets of teams would like to thank the Argyll Hotel for their much needed refreshments.
