LOCHGILPHEAD golf club held their gents club championship at the end of August with three competitions rolled into one. The Downhill trophy is played for during the first round by members who are 50 and over and the young gun of this pack, John Downie, picked it up with a great nett 61. The nett trophy like the gross is over four rounds.

Leader going into the final round was Ross Sinclair helped by a fantastic nett 55, gross 61 in the second round. He was being chased by D Sinclair, A Davis and a host of others.

The leader of the gross section after three rounds was Donald Johnson the form player for this year. He was ahead of R Sinclair, S Gilmour and M MacAulay.

Sundays final rounds were close fought affairs. Ross held on to his lead to win the net section by six shots over D Sinclair who was three ahead of A Davis.
