This photo from 1884 was handed in by Don Dennis of Achamore House, Gigha. It shows the team of workmen employed by Jackson Brown & Co of Glasgow to build Achamore House.

Don said: ‘The photo was shared with us by John Jackson’s grand-daughter, who came to visit at Achamore House 10 days ago. John Jackson is the man in the top hat. Nobody else is identified for us at this time.’
