Transport Minister visits Rest and Be Thankful

Scottish Government minister Derek Mackay faced tough questioning in Inveraray this week as fellow MSPs grilled him over progress on A83 improvements at the Rest and be Thankful.
Tthe Scottish Parliament public petitions committee made the trip from Edinburgh to Argyll to visit the Rest and Be Thankful, before moving on to a formal meeting in Inveraray.
The visit was in response to a petition submitted in December last year by Mid Argyll councillor Dougie Philand calling on ‘the Scottish Parliament to urge the Scottish Government to ensure that a permanent solution for the A83 at Rest and Be Thankful ensuring the vital lifeline route is not closed because of landslides’.
