Rockets,spaceships and strange creatures from outer space will descend on Lochgilphead this weekend as the Lantern Parade gets underway.

Schools,communities and families from across Mid Argyll have been busy making lanterns for the annual parade which takes place from 6.30pm on Saturday,November 3 2012.
Jane Walker,one of the lead artists,said:‘We have been amazed by some of the ideas for lanterns this year;people get more and more creative and ambitious and this year we can expect to see some fantastic lanterns taking part in the parade.’
Workshops to help families build their own lantern started on the previous Saturday and continued during the week between 4pm and 9pm at Lochgilphead Community Centre.
