AN EXCITING archaeology project that will help people in Arrochar and Tarbet understand how people lived in the villages hundreds of years ago has received more than £80,000 in grant funding.
The Hidden Heritage project, managed by Arrochar and Tarbet Community Development Trust, has been awarded the funds to deliver the community-based project that will excavate the strip of land connecting the two villages.
Offering school children and volunteers the opportunity to get hands on training in surveying and excavation techniques, the project will investigate the historical use of land between Arrochar and Tarbet,a vital link between Loch Long and Loch Lomond since Viking Times.
