COMPENSATION paid to people who experience power cuts is inadequate,the Scottish Affairs Committee has said.
The House of Commons committee,which is reviewing the level of service offered by energy companies after severe storms in January left people without power for days,is urging Ofgem to extend the right to compensation to the Highlands and Islands.
Several villages throughout Mid Argyll including parts of Tarbert and Kilberry were left without power for four days after the January storms,with many households refused compensation.
