THE SPATE of landslides along the A83 cutting off towns and villages in Mid Argyll from the rest of the country has proved to be the inspiration behind a new book.
The Silver Bough,by Lisa Tuttle from Torinturk, may be a fantasy novel about a village isolated from the rest of the world, but its connections to Argyll and its residents’ dependence on one trunk road is evident.
Based in Appleton,The Silver Bough tells the story of village cut off after a landslide blocks the only road in and out of the village.
