A SUCCESSFUL rescue carried out by the coastguard during a strike was not a true reflection of how the emergency service would cope with the closure of Clyde Coastguard Station,a union official has said.
Stuart Atkinson of the Public and Commercial Services (PCS) Union said the one-hour daily strikes,which began on Friday,June 8,2012, would impact the coastguard if local knowledge was needed to conduct a search operation.
