LOCAL marinas and water sports groups have reacted nervously to news that Clyde Coastguard’s operations will be temporarily moved to Belfast this weekend.
Calls have been made for the UK Government and the MCA to put to and end plans to close Scotland’s busiest Coastguard station and move cover for this area to Belfast in November.
They say not only would the lack of local knowledge affect the quality of service,but further stretching already limited resources could limit the agency’s ability to respond to emergencies in both Scotland and Northern Ireland.
