ROADS and education are the two main winners in Argyll and Bute Council’s budget,which will see £120 million capital investment in Argyll and Bute in the next three years.
Despite a heated debate during a full council meeting last Thursday,February 16,2012 ,all but three councillors agreed a budget that will invest £30 million in education and a further £21 million upgrading roads.
In a shock revelation during the budget debate,council leader Dick Walsh revealed plans to spend a further £40 million between 2012 and 2015,a 50 per cent increase on the original £83 million capital spend suggested in the draft budget.
