THERE is no strategic plan or long term funding to address the continual threat of landslides on the A83 in Argyll,the Scottish Government has confirmed.
Responding to concerns raised by Argyll businesses and frustrated motorists,Transport Minister Keith Brown said there are currently no ‘specific improvement schemes’ in place for the A83’s Rest and Be Thankful,which has been plagued by landslides for years.
Explaining that the Rest and Be Thankful would not benefit from further capital investment this year,Mr Brown said the government would continue to deliver its landslide mitigation programme.
